VSA gains further global recognition as a Level 5-accredited qualification.
We’re excited to share that after a comprehensive and exhaustive process, Victoria Stilwell Academy has been officially recognized as a Qualified Center with Open College Network (OCN) London, and that the Dog Trainer Course is now accredited by OCN London as a Level 5 course using the UK’s national qualification framework’s level descriptors.
OCN London is a UK-based national awarding organisation, recognised by the qualifications regulator for England (Ofqual). In general terms, a Level 5 qualification is roughly equivalent to two years of university education in the UK.
So what has changed?
In terms of the course content, processes, and learning experience… nothing. The Dog Trainer Course offers the same elite-level education and industry certification today as it did prior to this recognition, but as a result of this designation as a Level 5 qualification, VSA graduates around the world are now able to publicly promote themselves as Level 5 Dog Trainers – roughly equivalent to several years of university-level education in the UK.
While this designation is more often recognized within the UK, OCN London’s designation of the DTC as a Level 5 course is available to students globally, including North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand.
VSA is continually seeking new ways to support and serve its amazing Dog Trainer Course students, and this Level 5 qualification is just the latest in an ongoing effort to provide an unmatched return on the investment made by those who choose VSA. In addition to this Level 5 status via OCN London, the Dog Trainer Course has also long been recommended and recognized by leading dog training and behavior organizations such as the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) with Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) for all of its courses.
